Liana

Health Coach

Liana@novishealthutah.com

At a young age, Liana began to use food as comfort; not realizing the effects it had on her mental health. By age 17, Liana was soon diagnosed with ADHD, hormonal acne, and severe depression. Causing mood swings and poor gut health. After trying multiple avenues to help, Liana felt hopeless. She became tired of conventional medicine only masking her issues, rather than educating her on the root causes!

Liana embarked on her own self-help journey and decided to study holistic health at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) where she received her Health Coaching Certificate. Throughout this timeframe, Liana realized how superior she felt both physically and mentally once she began to fuel herself with nutritious foods and incorporated physical activity. The empowerment and confidence she gained had completely changed her life for the better. After several years of coaching experience, Liana continued her education with a Nutrition Science major at the University of Utah while also receiving her ISSA personal trainer Certification. Liana is fascinated with the science behind the brain-to-gut connection. Liana is passionate about your health because she has experienced it herself and knows how painful it can be when it feels as if you are in a never-ending battle to feel better. It is her mission to support and empower her clients to live a balanced lifestyle where they can feel free.

Liana has worked with both female and male clients who have had gut health issues, thyroid conditions, hormonal disruptions, poor relationships to food, weight loss goals, and those wanting to put on muscle.

Liana joined the Novis Health family because she wanted to be a part of a company making REAL changes in someone’s life and supporting them to have total freedom to heal.

Outside of work, you can catch Liana meal prepping, reading, hiking, traveling, at an amusement park, continuing her education, at the gym, with her friends, at a concert,  or playing with her pet.

Rachel

Health Coach

Rachel@novishealthutah.com

After struggling with her own hormone imbalances and gut dysfunction throughout college, Rachel was left feeling a lack of support from the traditional healthcare system. She dove head first into health and wellness to learn how to holistically heal her own body by attending the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Through IIN she learned about whole body health, bio-individuality, and how to heal stubborn symptoms through nutrition and lifestyle change.

Rachel’s wellness career started as a weight loss and women’s health coach, but was introduced to functional medicine while working in a naturopathic clinic. There she learned all about functional medicine, getting to the root cause of symptoms, and the importance of combining conventional and alternative treatments to treat the whole person. Utilizing her degree in psychology, she empowers her members to transform their lives by making sustainable lifestyle changes, developing positive mindsets, discarding limiting beliefs and finding balance in all areas of life. She supports her members through their health journeys by putting an emphasis on body literacy, behavior change, mindset work, and goal setting based on each individual’s conditions and circumstances. Rachel is knowledgeable and passionate about hormone health, thyroid conditions, weight management, and well-balanced nutrition.

Her favorite part of being a coach is educating her members on how simple it can actually be to live a healthy lifestyle once we find the root cause of the symptoms and get an action plan in place to promote healing.

Rachel joined the Novis family after moving from Georgia to Utah to pursue her passions of hiking, rock climbing, paddle boarding and taking road trips through the desert. She is an avid adventure seeker so when she’s not coaching she can be found on local hiking trails or camping out in southern Utah!

Brandon Gustafson is an entrepreneurial healthcare professional who uses his keen business mind to help members receive the healthcare they need and deserve. He currently owns and operates Novis Health Sandy where he leads an exciting staff of administrators and health coaches.

In a career spanning more than 10 years, Mr. Gustafson has excelled in healthcare analytics and medical billing. He graduated from the University of Utah’s MHA program, before joining companies like LDS Family Services, United Health Group, and Comagine Health as a business analyst and healthcare strategy analyst.

In addition to his work as an analyst, Mr. Gustafson is very entrepreneurial-minded. He started a small grant writing side business called Gustafson Writing Strategies, where he assists small non-profit organizations in finding and obtaining grants. He also owns health-related facilities across the country.

In June 2022, he launched Sandy’s franchise location of Novis Health. He understands the community’s need for functional medicine and health coaching because too often, traditional medicine isn’t able to improve the health of those suffering from chronic health conditions such as diabetes, auto immune disorders, thyroid issues, and gastrointestinal issues. But Mr. Gustafson believes that a holistic approach to wellness is what modern healthcare is missing. He is passionate about applying sound business practices to health clinics in order to improve quality of care.
